School Swing 2005

This year the School Swing had a unique approach to sharing classical music with Hutchinson Elementary students. Using the Kansas State Song, "Home on the Range", different arrangements highlighting six musical periods: Medieval, Renaissance, Classical, Romantic, Impressionism, and American Jazz. The arrangements were done by Brian Miller, a recent graduate from Wichita State University and a music teacher in Wichita. A chamber group from the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra was directed by Jim Phillips. The HCC Badinage Singers were directed by Neil Allsup. The School Swing was coordinated by Annie Roehm. Below are pictures from February 10 and 11.
