The Symphony opens the Season celebrating the 100th birthday of one of America’s greatest musical geniuses (Leonard Bernstein) and the unrestrained joy of love found, Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony.  A dynamic season opener with an all-star line up of great music!

It’s Christmas - Celebrate Some More!

The Hutchinson High School and Nickerson High School Choirs will join the Symphony on Stage, performing selections from 2016 American musical romantic comedy, La La Land!  What better way to celebrate than with Tchaikovsky’s ultimate celebratory work, his Overture 1812?  You can also expect an encore of seasonal selections – we promise this package will be one of the highlights of your holiday season!

Always a delight, your Anderson Concerto Competition winners are once again front and center!   Celebrate another crop of exceptionally talented young musicians, winners of the Anderson Concerto Competition, as they perform on stage with the Symphony. On the flip side of the program, Berlioz’ brilliantly original landmark work will captivate and delight your senses! Also on the program, music from Bizet’s phenomenal opera, Carmen!  The Symphony’s Valentine’s Day offering to you!

For your season finale, we are thrilled to welcome back to the stage Hutchinson’s own virtuoso pianist, Dr. Matthew Cash in a performance of Prokofiev’s electric Piano Concerto in C Major!  Also on the program, Ravel’s bombastic Bolero and Marquez’ magnificent and fiery Danzon No. 2.
